Strength Training Misconceptions and Benefits

Had a conversation with somebody today... they said they didn't want to do strength training because they didn't want to be big and bulky and that they didn't "need" to do it.

Most people believe strength training will automatically make you big and bulky like a bodybuilder. That's not true. To be like them, you need to train in a specific manner like them. You must eat a certain amount of calories and this must happen for a very long time for you to get to that size.

So, there is a big misconception about that process still, especially among people that are new to fitness.

While strength training can help with hypertrophy (muscle growth), it can also help with the following:

  • Increased metabolism - this can really help you lose weight because with an increased metabolism you are able to burn more calories during your daily activities

  • Improved endurance - you will be able to perform your daily activities and tasks for longer periods of time without being exhausted

  • Overall well-being and boost to your health

Strength training can provide a multitude of benefits and you should not skip it merely because you're afraid of being bulky. If this is something you want more information about, feel free to send as a message here or hit us up via Instagram DM @ownitfitnessllc!
